| Notes/Discussion: | Arabic on verso (letter) CM 53 style; Mihálykó follows MacCoull in attributing Cairo Coptic Museum inv. 3469 to one scriptorium where Arabic documents were reused to copy Greek hymns most likely located in Hermopolis (Mihálykó 2019: p. 91) cf. TM 1564. Following MacCoull, the hand of Cairo Coptic Museum inv. 3469 resembles P. Ryl. III 466, BKT VIII 16 and PSI IX 1096 grouped together by Cavallo and Maehler 1987; all dated by them to the 7th or 8th century; all three texts have comparable Arabic writing on them. Other comparable Greek hands: P. Berol. 13888 and P. Vindob. 26.162, both are liturgical texts but do not have Arabic writing on them (MacCoull 1994: p. 131-132). Image in Hanafi 2001: 115 |
