[1] For a woman with blood is under her. Make these things. Bind them to her. [2] Stick them to her loins and her navel. Request. Offering: Mastic. [3] She will quickly be healed (?). [4] Write these things in [5] secret ink ⟨on⟩ [6] papyrus. Stick them [8] to her. It is a good ⟨recipe⟩, [9] it is tested, [10] a common (?) ⟨recipe⟩ (?), amen! [11] “Restrain the [12] womb of NN, child of NN!”

Notes:

3. ϣⲁⲥⲱⲗ The act of “gathering/containing” (ⲱⲗ) usually refers in recipes of this type to the act of gathering blood back into the body, but the subject here is feminine, so it cannot refer to the blood; here we propose that this is an error for ⲗⲟ “to heal”, giving the translation “she will quickly be healed”, but it is possible that the use of ⲱⲗ in similar texts conditioned this error.
