Notes/Discussion: | Two holes bored in the right hand part of the tablet after writing, perhaps to form notebook (Worp 1995: p. 220). Worp (1995: p. 222) suspected that the text might be an amulet, or a formulary from which an amulet might be copied, but as discussed by Römer et al (1997: p. 128) it seems more likely to have been intended to be read in liturgical contexts, and may have been part of a larger collection. |
