Notes/Discussion: | This is the same text as O. Frangé 791r (KYP M1667) and found in the fourteenth century ritual of the consecration of the Myron (Mihalyko 2019: p. 127), The writing is similar to P. Rein. Cent. 37 (Di Bitonto Kasser 1999: p. 94). The writing’s exactitude points towards a skilled person from a monastic or other ecclesiastical context (Di Bitonto Kasser 1999: p. 96) The fact that the hymn was written on an ostracon may point towards it being copied from memory or from another hymn or collection, and that it was copied for private usage (Di Bitonto Kasser 1999: p. 96). |
