Purchased by the National Museum (Rijksmuseum van Oudheden) in 1828 as part of a a lot sold by Jean d’Anastasy, consul-general of Sweden and Norway. It is no. 76 in the catalogue of the sale (RMO inv.
3.1.6), and was ascribed “Thebes” as provenance (Dosoo 2016: p. 252-253, 257 et passim.
