Parallel text: P. Mich. inv. 593, p. 9 ll. 3-7 (KYP M9, T885)

4. There is a short horizontal line in the margin which touches the sigma which begins the line. Its significance is unclear, and it might simply be an accidental stroke.
5. ⲥⲡⲁⲛ̅ⲟ̅ⲛ̅ The word σπανός has the meaning “rare, uncommon” (cf. Förster WBGW s.v. σπάνιος), but relating to oil it is almost certainly a syncopated form of Ἱσπανός (“Spanish”; cf. LSJ s.v. Σπανόν). The word is often used in documentary papyri and medical works to describe olive oil imported from the province of Hispania; see P.Oxy. XVI 1862.11 (with note ad loc.), P.Oxy. XVI 1924.6, P.Sorb. I 62.1, and Mattingly 1988.
5. ⲕⲱⲛ̅ⲧⲥ The word ⲕⲟⲩⲛ can refer to both the breasts and the genitals (cf. Crum CD, 111b). Given the mention of menstrual blood, we interpret it here as genitals. Cf. Preininger 2026, 152 n. 45.
