Notes/Discussion: | Wrongly identified as parchment by the editor (http://papyri.info/apis/hermitage.apis.358) The bibliography on Trismegistos is incorrect; Pernigotti ( “La magia copta: i testi.” In Aufstieg und Niedergang der römischen Welt II 18.5, edited by W. Hasse and H. Temporini. Berlin: Walter de Gruyter, 1995, 3727, no. 38) misunderstood a passing reference to the text as part of the larger corpus of fever amulets mentioning the Three Hebrew Youths in Quecke (“Zwei koptische Amulette der Papyrussammlung der Universität Heidelberg.” Le Muséon no. 76 (1963): 247–265, pp. 257-258); the text which Quecke gives, and which Pernigotti translates as “P. Ermitage” (no. 38) is in fact P. Heid. Inv. Kopt. 685 p. 18 ll. 1-14 (KD 23/2/2020). |
