| Recto 1. +̣ ⲓ̣̅ⲥ̣̅ ⲛⲉⲃⲙⲁⲁϣⲉ̣ ⲙ̇ⲛ ⲙⲓⲭⲁⲏⲗ ‧ ⲙ̣[ⲛ] |
[1] + Jesus was walking with Michael and [2] Gabriel and Raphael and the Twelve [3] Apostles and the Twenty-[Four] [4] Presbyters by the doors of [5] Paradise. He found a worm lying, [6] sleeping. He said to him, “What is the matter [7] with you?” He said to him, “My Lord Jesus Christ, [8] you were seen, and I was afraid.” He said [9] to him, “By no means, you were not afraid, [10] but rather arise and go and bite NN ⟨child of⟩ NN!” [11] I adjure you (f.) today, O male scorpion, [12] O female scorpion, in the name {the name} of [13] the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit! [14] I adjure you (m.) ⟨by⟩ the five nails which pierced [15] Christ — whose names are: Satōr, [16] Aretō, Tenēt, Ōtera, Rōtas … [17] — that you (f.) pierce him like fire, [18] and you (m.) roast him like a pillar (?), [19] bring (f.) to him from the south of the earth, do not [20] believe them until I, myself desire! [21] Offering: … … crown (?) of a bridegroom (?) [22] ⟨who⟩ has not yet gone to his wife. |
