[1] + Iseosis and (?) Diseos, Afrioukkekmarouk, fulfil (?), [2] Uriel! Fulfil, Michael! I adjure you today, O Holy Father, [3] you of the breath of life, who is on high, the song [4] of the angels, the voice of the archangels, the vision [5] of those of the heavens, the hymn of the Father! I adjure you [6] today, Daueithea, the one who lies upon the bed of the tree of [7] life, you who have the golden bell in your right hand, [8] the lute of spirit in your left as you [9] gather in all the angels to the greeting of the Father! [10] I adjure you today, Daueithea Eleleth, by the names [11] of the seven holy archangels – Michael, Gabriel, Suriel, Raphael, Asouēl, Saraphouēl, Abaēl, who are the ones [13] who stand at the right hand of the Father, [14] ready to completely fulfil his will – that you (pl.) [15] obey everything that I will say with my mouth, and you [16] act according to these things which are in my hand, and you come upon this cup, [17] this one which is set before me, and you fill it [18] with favour and holy spirit, so that it becomes for me a new shoot [19] within me – me, NN, child of NN! But if [20] you do not obey the ⟨words⟩ of my mouth, and act according to things which are in my hand, I will [21] turn my face to the east and I will stop the sun in the east, [22] the moon in the west; I will fight with all the creation of heaven [23] and I will say to the sky, “become bronze, do not produce dew [24] upon the earth”, and to the earth, “become iron, do not produce [25] fruit”, until the Father sends out rays, as he is seated upon [26] his throne, and sends to me the great [27] decan, mighty in his power, who is Daueithea, [28] so that he comes to me, to the holy place in which I dwell [29] – I, NN, child of NN, – and he gives to me a voice which is not hoarse, [30] which is not cracked, not rough, which flows to the heights, and a tongue [31] which surrounds every instrument in a song of a breath [32] which gives voice to music, which gives sweetness to this people [33] among whom I dwell, and may you (pl.) give favour [34] to my face in the presence of all those who see me, [35] like the voice of David the lute-player as he [36] dwells in the tabernacle of the Father, singing to him! Do not let [37] them see my face and go, but rather let them turn themselves [38] to me in a good turning, and let their workshops lie idle, [39] and let them come and look upon my face, yea, yea, for I adjure [40] you in the name of the seven rows of letters – those which are [41] inscribed on the chest of the father, which are [42] AA (7 ⟨times⟩), E (7 ⟨times⟩), Ē (7 ⟨times⟩), I (7 ⟨times⟩), O (7 ⟨times⟩), U (7 ⟨times⟩), Ō (7 ⟨times⟩), yea, yea – that you [43] obey ⟨the words⟩ of my mouth in this very hour – before it passes [44] and another ⟨hour⟩ replaces it – and you appear to me [45] in a vision without causing me fear, by the power of the [46] Holy Father! Iak, Meiak, Semiak, O three [47] decans, mighty in your power, you who stand [48] by the bed of the tree of life, give [49] sweetness to my throat – mine, Seuēros, son ⟨of⟩ Iouanna – [50] now, now, quickly, quickly, now, now, now! [51] (kharaktēres: ΘΝ ⸙⸙ ΔΑΥΕΙ-) [Figure] [56] You write these phylacteries in true honey – without water, unsmoked – [57] on an alabaster ostracon. Wash them off with white wine. [58] Twenty-one white grapes, twenty-one ⟨pieces of⟩ male mastic [59] twenty-one capers (which are called “nail”). [60] White garment. Offering: male frankincense, male mastic, [61] honeysuckle (?). ⟨The recipe is⟩ complete. |
