[34] I invoke you, Piriper the sun – the angel who gives light to the whole inhabited world, [35] he who rules over the four corners of the earth, he at whom the angels tremble, [36] Abrax Abraxō Iao Sabaoth – over this rose oil, so that immediately [37] he will run from NN, ⟨child of⟩ NN, as she comes to me!”

Notes:

Parallel text: P. Mich. inv. 597 vo ll. 2-8 (KYP M15, T7015)

34. ⲡ̅ⲓⲣⲓ̅ⲡ̅ⲉⲣ̅ Compare GEMF 55/PGM III.514 ⲡⳓⲟⲓ̈ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲓⲣⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲛ “Shai who came forth from the primordial waters”. ⲡ̅ⲓⲣⲓ̅ⲡ̅ⲉⲣ̅ could be understood as a distorted form of ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲓⲣⲉ (“the one who came forth”). For the archaic relative ⲉⲣ-, see Crum CD 57b, and Haardt 1963/1964.
37. ⲕⲟⲩ̅ϣ̅ ⲁ̅ⲣ This is likely Hellenia speciosa (formerly Costus speciosus), often referred to as “Arabian costus” (e.g., Dioscorides, Materia Medica 1.16; cf. PCM I, p. 475), and is probably meant to be used as a burnt offering. For this spelling without the final ⲧ of ⲕⲟⲩϣⲧ and the abbreviated form of ⲁⲣⲁⲃⲓⲕⲟⲛ, cf. P. Ryl. Copt. 109 (KYP M328, T92) l. 4: ⲕ̅ⲟ̅ⲩ̅ϣ̅ ⲁⲣⲁ.
37. ⲏⲙⲉⲣ̣ⲉ ⲅ ⲣⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲅ̣ This indicates that something should be done for three days and three evenings, but it is unclear whether it refers only to the offering of costus, or to the entire ritual, including recitation of the invocation, for which cf. PCM I 28 (KYP M148, T15) p. 12 ll. 20-21: ⲅ ⲉⲛϩⲁⲟⲩ · ⲍ ⲛⲉⲩⲭⲏ ⲉⲙⲏⲛⲉ “Three days, seven prayers daily”.
